Building the bridge between vision and value creation.
Trestle Group Holdings is an operating partner to owners, investors, and management teams in the lower middle market, whether the goal is to scale and hold or to prepare for growth capital or an outright sale.
The gap
Most businesses have the idea.
Fewer have the structure to carry it to value.
Owners rarely lack ambition, and investors rarely lack a thesis. What breaks is the span in between: the plan that never reaches the weekly meeting, the KPI nobody acts on, the leadership team pulling in different directions. Trestle builds that span, one section at a time.
Idea
Pressure-test what the owner or investor believes is possible, and size it.
Strategy
Turn the thesis into a plan with priorities, owners, and dates.
Execution
Install the operating cadence, KPIs, and accountability that make the plan run.
Value creation
Grow EBITDA, cash flow, and enterprise value, whether the owner plans to hold or to sell.
Jason has spent more than two decades in lower middle-market private equity as an investor, operator, and board member, and has been involved in more than 50 transactions over his career.
He co-founded Fruition Partners and has served as principal, CEO, and director. His sector experience spans value-added distribution, manufacturing, software, consumer products and licensing, and business services.
Through Trestle, he works as operating partner to private and sponsor-backed companies, building the plans, cadence, and leadership structure that turn a thesis into results. He brings an investor's understanding of pace, capital structure, and sale readiness, and an operator's perspective on how to execute. Jason will invest on a case-by-case basis.
The people side
Plans move at the speed of the people carrying them.
Turning a strategy into action asks a management team to change how it works while still running the business every day, and having sat in that seat as an operator (and as the investor waiting on the results), Jason knows a plan only works when the people and the customers come with it.
Culture carries the plan
Execution lasts when a team stays curious and keeps improving how the work gets done. Cadence and scorecards are built with management, so asking why and fixing the process becomes a weekly habit.
Customer first
Customer measures sit on the same scorecard as EBITDA: retention, service levels, share of wallet. What the customer feels shows up in the weekly review.
Respect what was built
Change is paced to what the business can absorb, out of respect for what the owners and team have already built, so momentum is not lost along the way.
Who Trestle works with
Three seats at the table. One plan.
Owners and founders
You built the business. Trestle helps you build the leadership team, operating rhythm, and capital structure to scale it, whether you plan to hold it for the long term or sell on your terms.
Investors and sponsors
Trestle supports sponsors from inside the portfolio company after close, owning the value creation plan, add-on integration, and board cadence, and serving as a working partner to the CEO.
Management teams
Management teams set the goals, define what winning looks like, and own the results, with a partner beside them who has done this before.
The work
Every engagement is sized to the business.
While some owners need a plan and an operating rhythm, others need help with capital structure, a strong leadership team for future growth, experience buying competitors or adding service and product extensions, or a governance structure that fits how they make decisions. The work usually draws from the areas below and the playbooks developed over the years.
